Buy Devils Lair Wine Online
It seems that Devil’s Lair was destined to be Margaret River’s most mysterious and alluring estate. Thename is taken from a local cave which itself was named after the Tasmanian Devil and where a fossilised skeleton of a complete Tasmanian Tiger was found with a mysterious extra or fifth leg. To this day the exact location of the cave is a guarded secret.
Devil’s Lair is one of the coolest sites in the region which is reflected in the style of the wines. An array of flavours is driven along the palate by taut natural acidity, balanced alcohol and refined tannin. If it can be managed, they age remarkably well.
BEGINNINGS
1982: Original vineyards planted on a ridge in poor gravely soils high in iron and low in water holding capacity. Three successive plantings fail to take hold
1985: Vines finally take in 1985.
1990: After much hard work, Devil’s Lair releases its first wine. The wines immediately find acclaim to become considered amongst the best in the region.
