The original Jamiesons Run was a remote outback sheep station owned by the Jamieson Brothers in the mid 1800s. The wine label was named Jamiesons Run as a tribute to their pioneering past. Since the early 1950s Jamiesons Run have been crafting wine from Limestone Coast fruit and have always been at the forefront of vineyard development and fine winemaking.  

Jamiesons Run's connection with Coonawarra started in 1953 (as Mildara Wines) under the guidance of director Ron Haselgrove, who purchased what turned out to be some of the most sought after parcels of Terra Rossa soil in Coonawarra.

Jamiesons Run shot to fame in 1989 when the 1998 Jamiesons Run Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Malbec red one the Jimmy Watson Trophy – Australia’s most famous red wine trophy.

Since that time Jamiesons Run has continued to be a quality producer of wines sourcing fruit from the Limestone Coast region in South Australia’s south-east corner.

1963 - The wineries first winemaker, Ron Haselgrove purchased one of the region's finest Shiraz plantings -the McShane's Block (40 acres).

1966 - Cabernet Sauvignon nicknamed 'Peppermint Pattie' was released and to this day remembered as one of the truly great Coonawarra red wines.

1978 - Jack Schulz takes over as winemaker.

1983 - Gavin Hogg takes over as the first resident winemaker until 1998 when David O'Leary took the reins for the next two vintages.

1987 - Jamiesons Run was launched in August 1987 with red wine from the 1985 vintage

1988 - Jimmy Watson winner#1 A classic year for Coonawarra summed up in winemaker Gavin Hogg's trademark style.

2000 - Marked the arrival of current winemaker Andrew Hales, and his success to date is a clear statement of his intention to continue the proud winemaking tradition at Jamiesons Run.

2001 - Launch of the Single Vineyard wines.

2002 - 4 trophies and a gold medal awarded to the 2000 Jamiesons Run Winemakers Reserve at the 2002 Limestone Coast Wine Show

2003 - Launch of the Red Terra Reserve and Winemakers Reserve wines. Launch of first single varietals of cabernet and shiraz.

2005 - Launch of Limestone Coast Sauvignon Blanc in core range; Country Selection premium Coonawarra wines launched in Australia.
