The inaugural HRB Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 is sourced from premium vineyards in the Coonawarra and Margaret River, two regions which are synomonous with outstanding Cabernet in Australia. A warm and relatively dry growing season allowed for the early development of intense fruit flavours and the resultant wine is characterised by fine grain tannins and ripe berry flavours with great cellaring potential.
Rich Ruby Red Bouquet Complex and aromatic, showing chocolate mint, cassis, bay leaf and perfumed French oak. A mirror image of the bouquet with a richly textured palate showing fine tannins and exceptional length of flavour.
Pewsey Vale Vineyard was first planted to Riesling by Joseph Gilbert in 1847. The site was later purchased by well known grazier Geoff Angas-Parsons whom in 1961 invited his friend Wyndham Hill Smith to jointly develop the historic vineyard site. They believed the site could produce "delicate Rieslings in the Germanic style".
The Pewsey Vale Riesling is a rich and intensely flavoured wine. Classic fruit aromas of talcum, crushed stone and limes, with a hint of overlaying dried herb. The palate shows great length and depth with lemons and limes. The wine finishes with a soft but fresh natural acidity which balances the flavour intensity and a minerality that will reward medium to long-term cellaring.
The grapes for Jacaranda Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon were sourced from the very best Coonawarra vineyard sites, picked at optimum flavour ripeness following repeated vineyard inspections by the winemakers. Each individual vineyard parcel was destemed into small static fermenters and inoculated with a neutral yeast strain to maximise the expression of varietal Cabernet Sauvignon fruit.
An iconic example of a Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. Still youthful on release, this wine will reward the patient by revealing its true potential over the next 15 to 20 years. We recommend that this wine be decanted before serving for best results.
Medium straw in colour, this wine displays intense aromas of spice, fresh white peach and preserved lemon. Toasty oak with a hint of buttery richness will feature in the wine whilst it is young.
This Chardonnay exhibits a smooth, delicate palate with a mineral lemony acidity, and also shows flavours of stone fruit and grapefruit, interplaying on the palate with creamy toast characters. The wine is integrated and seamless with a crisp acid finish which gives a juicy character to the wine.
Various Bridgewater Mill Sauvignon Blanc parcels were fermented with a number of selected yeast strains including some wild yeast, with in tank lees stirring upon completion.
Fresh exotic fruits with a slight herbal edge and racy acidity are the typical traits of this regional wine for which the Adelaide Hills are now becoming so renowned.
Selected vineyard parcels were harvested and gently pressed to extract the finest quality juice. A combination of stainless steel and barrel fermentation in French oak has provided a wine of freshness and complexity.
Pale straw with tinges of green and gold, this wine displays aromas of melon, nectarine and cashew nuances derived from French oak fermentation.
The key to providing premium high quality wines from the vineyard is in the selection process. Each Coonawarra vineyard was carefully monitored as ripening progressed and only those parcels exhibiting excellent potential in varietal expression and colour intensity were set aside as candidates for St Hugo.
Full depth red with crimson hues. Intense blackberry and cassis with minty notes and spicy oak. Concentrated blackberry, cassis and mint with supple velvety tannins and integrated cedary oak.
