Fruit parcels for this iconic wine were selected from across Western Australia’s premium growing regions. The fruit was harvested at optimum fruit flavour and acid balance. In the winery, gentle processing of the fruit and cool fermentation ensured vibrancy and fruit freshness were maintained. At the completion of fermentation, the wine was clarified, stabilised and blended. Early bottling ensured that the hallmark bright fruit flavours of this wine were retained. 

Houghton White Classic can be enjoyed as a young, fresh and fruity wine but careful cellaring of 5-7 years will be rewarded with toasty, marmalade complexity.

Cape Mentelle Georgiana is distinctively textural on the palate, with bright and refreshing acidity, providing balance to create the perfect summer white.

The fruit for Madfish White is sourced primarily from the Great Southern, Pemberton and Margaret River regions in the South West of Western Australia. These regions give different flavour profiles that contribute well to the final blend. Margaret River tends to give riper fruit characters of melon and white peach while the Great Southern contributes more citrus flavours such as lemon and grapefruit with Pemberton sitting between these two both in terms of geography and flavour-wise giving apple and pear notes.

The palate is generous and cleansing with melon and citrus fruit flavours leading to a fine mid palate and a finish which is clean and long with a crisp acidity.

Where does Fifth Leg come from? Fifth Leg was born from the Devil's Lair cave - a famous archaeological site not far from the Devil's Lair winery - where fossilised remains of a Tasmanian tiger were found, together with a mysterious extra leg.

Introducing the 2010 Fifth Leg Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, which provides serious wine in a fun package. Semillon fills out the mid-palate with zesty citrus nuances, texture and palate weight, while Sauvignon Blanc provides plenty of punchy tropical fruit flavour.
