Careful handling of fruit combined with cool fermentation temperatures ensured the retention of fresh vibrant fruit flavours allowing each region to express its unique flavour profile on the blend. The Clare Valley delivers citrus aromas and concentrated juicy mid palate whilst the Tasmanian fruit contributed spice, complex flavour and bracing acidity.

The Annie's Lane Riesling is light straw in colour with lime hues. The nose offers citrus and floral aromas of lemon pith and jasmine. The juicy palate is balanced by mouth watering acidity. This wine is light to medium bodied with pure Clare Valley Riesling characteristics - lemon, lime, talc and lavender flavours.

Heggies vineyard is the sort of place a man would sit on his horse in silence at sunset and marvel at the ways of nature. Through the combination of innovative viticultural practices and unique ‘terrior’, this challenging and picturesque estate vineyard produces distinctive, balanced wines – beautifully structured and long on flavour. Nestled in the high country of the Eden Valley, Heggies Vineyard is situated at an altitude of 550m above sea level where the soil is a thin layer of grey sandy loam over clay and decomposed rock. With only 787mm of average annual rainfall, the vines compete vigorously for moisture and nutrient, producing wines of full flavour, fineness and balance.

Howard Park Wines was launched in 1986 with the release of the 1986 Riesling, since this inaugural vintage the style and philosophy of the Howard Park Riesling has remained unchanged. The focus being to source the most pristine Riesling from premier vineyards in the Great Southern region of Western Australia to produce a wine showcasing the best of this variety from this isolated region ideally suited to Riesling.

The Howard Park Riesling is characterised by citric, limey aromas with a hint of flint or slate, a dry finish and racy acids. The Riesling has a clarity and purity of expression in its youth coupled with exciting vibrancy and freshness. The vines providing fruit for this iconic Riesling are grown in some of the highest vineyards in the Great Southern.

The Estate Riesling fruit was harvested very early in the morning to ensure the temperature of the fruit is as cold as possible. Riesling is very fragile and its quantity of extractible phenolics makes it a challenge to handle. A key aim of the winemaking process was to preserve the very delicate flavours and aromas of this variety.

Regular block visits by Jacob's Creek winemakers during ripening ensured the selection of quality fruit parcels for inclusion in Jacob’s Creek Riesling. The fruit was harvested in the cool of the night at optimum vineyard temperatures of less than15º Celsius and delivered to the winery.

Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, as he was sure it would “produce some of the best Riesling in Clare.” Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area.
