Widely planted in Australia, Chardonnay produces rich, flavoursome wines in warm climates and more complex wines with finesse in cooler climates. Generally fermented or aged in oak but unwooded styles are also popular.
Selected vineyard parcels were harvested and gently pressed to extract the finest quality juice. A combination of stainless steel and barrel fermentation in French oak has provided a wine of freshness and complexity. The resulting wine was maintained on yeast lees for a period of six to eight months to build texture before blending, fining, filtration and bottling.
Pale straw with tinges of green and gold, this wine displays aromas of melon, nectarine and cashew nuances derived from French oak fermentation.
The palate is full-flavoured, with sweet citrus fruits complemented by nougat and grilled nut complexities. The wine is beautifully balanced with soft acidity and a wonderful persistence of flavour.
