The grapes for the Stonier Pinot Noir were selected from several long term growers for Stonier, with an epicentre around Balnarring, Merricks and Merricks North. The gently de-stemmed fruit for Stonier Pinot Noir was fermented in a combination of small open fermenters and larger Potter fermenters.  Approximately 5% of the blend was fermented as whole bunches.  Pressed and transferred to a mix of fine grain French oak for malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured for 10 months prior to racking and bottling.

Colour: Bright ruby red hues

Aroma:  Lifted myriad red fruits with cherries and raspberries to the fore.  There is also some ginger spice with richly scented roses.

Palate:  The Palate is vibrant with a determined structure driving it along.  There is some lovely fresh raspberry with blackberries and a Satsuma plum and a hint of earthy liquorice starting to infiltrate the mid-palate.  There is a lot of fruit packed into this wine which will reveal increasing complexity with bottle maturation.
