The Shiraz grape tends to be used as a great backbone for many variations of blending Red Wines. Having added varieties like Cabenet, Grenache, Mataro, Tempranillo, Viogner we get what is easily titled Shiraz Blends.
VINTAGE: 2009. REGION: McLaren Vale (60%) Fleurieu Peninsula (40%) GRAPE VARIETIES: Shiraz (47%), Cabernet Sauvignon (39%), Petit Verdot (14%).
VINEYARDS: Wirra Wirra sources fruit from a combination of owned vineyards and premium McLaren Vale growers. The blend of individual vineyard and sub-regional characteristics is the key to the resulting style.
OAK MATURATION: Judicious use of French and American oak ensured that each individual wine batch achieved optimal sensory balance prior to blending.
TECHNICAL DETAILS: pH 3.49 TA 6.6g/L ALC 14.5%

COLOUR: Brilliant deep crimson hue, with vibrant purple edge.
BOUQUET:Pungent primary red fruits, stewed Satsuma plums and spicy notes are complemented by subtle sweet oak lift and hints of chocolate and mocha.
PALATE: Soft fleshy primary fruits of plums and ripe blackcurrants, with creamy textural palate supported by soft silky tannin structure.
DRINK: Now to 5 years.
FOOD MATCH: Marinated fresh sardines, with sourdough toast and olive tapenade.
